Our first speaker of this "Year of Celebration" was June Klaassen, one of our earliest members. She charmed us with her skill and wit and her great body of work, using many different techniques. She says "I don't do modern" but she sure does just about everything else. In addition to quilts, she showed her impressive binder in which she records details of every quilt she has made, donated, sold and given away. However, she stated that "if they don't come to see me, they don't get a quilt". We are so fortunate to have such a prolific quilter in our midst.
Below are photos of some of June's creations.

The September meeting was lively with everyone excited to be back and many quilts shared. As this year celebrates the guild's 25th anniversary, the meeting included Susan's "Archive Moment". 75 tickets were distributed to the Anniversary Luncheon to take place on November 9 at Riverbend Golf Community Clubhouse at which our guest speaker will be Pat Menary, a founding member of the guild.
Our new cupboards and library cart are great and thanks were extended to Betty's husband, John who built them. Gwen revealed the the Canadian Mosaic Project and Marlene presented the set of Fidget Quilts she made over the summer, to be donated to the developmental class at Saunders Secondary School. All are encouraged to get involved and have a wonderful year.
