9/10/2014

Another Guild year has started and we have 110 members.

The Program Committee has a great line up of Guest Speakers and Workshops for this Guild year. Don
't be disappointed - sign up early for the workshops.

Let's Quilt days will have a different focus each month. September's will be sharing ideas for things to make for the Quilt Show Boutique. For more information click here.

Janet Rhind was our guest speaker who took us through her stitching journey by not only telling us about how she came to sewing but also sharing her wearable art, quilts and dolls. Each doll had her own story captured in a small book created by Janet.

Here is a sample of her creations.

I really enjoyed seeing the touch quilts that one of our members has made for people with Alzheimer's and other people who benefit from them. This was the first time I had heard of them as touch quilts. If you would like to read more about them here is what is being done in Manitoba. http://www.alzheimer.mb.ca/touchquiltproject/
