Let's Quilt Day was very active in November with many people contributing to the assembly of quilts for the Wesley- Knox refugee family and the CQA blocks for Ronald McDonald house. Connie Hiscock organized everyone and there were tables where people cut fabric into rectangles in order to form 12 1/2" slab blocks, according to theme (children) or colour (blue, purple, green, etc.). These pieces were then delivered to one of four or five sewers and others were on hand to square-up and press. Some participants of this enthusiastic group made plans to continue the work at Betty H's house next week. Great work!!
In addition, a large quantity of donated fabric was made available to members for personal or outreach use. $43 was given and then delivered to My Sisters' Place after the meeting, along with collected toiletries. The usual activities of stitching, chatting, and visiting the library also contributed to a busy morning for all. This is what Let's Quilt Day is all about - a great feature of our guild.
