Let's Quilt Day

11/27/2015

There was a lot of energy in the room on our November Let's Quilt Day.
Along with members working on their own projects, making use of the library and visiting with one another, we enjoyed learning from one another.
Betty Huygen once again demonstrated the technique of turning striped fabric into a quilt.
Carol Thompson shared some Christmas articles she had made - cards with quilted fronts and some small placemats.
Dorothy Maynard also shared some Christmas ideas - small placemats, and a small quilted basket to hold a little doll or other small articles.
Brenda Hambleton demonstrated the "hot dog" pillowcase method for those new to making them.
Thank you, ladies, for making our morning so much fun. Let's Quilt Day will resume in January with more great sharing of ideas.

A beautiful poppy quilt made by one of our members.  We stopped at 11 a.m. to observe a minute of silence to honour our military.

Heather Bell from West Lorne presented a beautiful and motivating trunk show.  She had beautiful wall hangings and embroidered quilts.   She has done The Farmer's Wife using Marti Michell templates. Check out her website for more information on classes, notions, and fabric.

December meeting: Christmas social - extended show and share. Please bring a few Christmas goodies to share.

TIP: Use a wooden skewer to guide quilt pieces under the presser foot and keep your fingers away from the needle.
