Maggie Vanderweit was our guest speaker.  Maggie Vanderweit has been quilting for over 30 years and sewing since childhood.  She is a very talented fiber artist who uses many different methods in her work.  She shared a trunk show (of many beautiful quilts/wallhangings) and also treated us to a personal history of her journey in fiber arts.

She makes her own hand-painted fabric. Maggie also uses many natural elements (nails, leaves, etc) to add design to her fabric.  She uses this fabric and comes up with simple designs that she then embellish with free motion work on her sewing machine.

For more photos of her work please check out her website here.

Our quilt show is coming up quickly and there are still spaces to volunteer and help make this show a wonderful success.

At our next Let's Quilt Day (April 22)  we will be covering how to make quilt labels and sleeves.

Kathy Wylie will be the guest speaker at our May Meeting. Check out her website here.

Here are our show and share pictures.
