Many of our members came out to work on their own projects, or to find out about Fidget Quilts, Mile a minute quilts and a cool looking leaf hot pad. Marlene demonstrated many different ways to make fidget quilts, using textured fabrics, lace, zippers, etc. Next Gail demonstrated how to use even our smallest scraps to make 'mile a minute' quilts. This picture shows how to build a scrap block. Click here to go to the website (and scroll down) for another picture of the hotpad. Members quilt show and share.

Welcome back to guild.
Lisa Hill from Soft Impressions was our speaker and vendor for the morning. She has all kinds of gadgets for quilters. Pens, pencils, pins, best press, foam batting for bags, lighted accessories, thimbles, needles, seam rippers, mat cleaner – anything you can think of and she is likely to have it. This upcoming year will be the 25th anniversary of our guild. We are looking for volunteers to put together a committee to get things in motion for our celebration. The outreach program has grown. We will still be making pillowcases, but in addition to the pillowcases, we'll be making "Fidget Quilts". These quilts will be provided to Alzheimer patients. |
