The Guild's June meeting featured Marci Majoor, the London representative of Quilts of Valour. She shared some of the history of the organization and the labelling that is placed on the back of each quilt. She shares one of their quilts below.
Members enjoyed an extended social time with a delicious potluck brunch. In wrapping up our "Year of Celebration" and recognizing Canada 150, we watched "The Log Driver's Waltz," a delightful animated video of the iconic Canadian folk song. A slide show of our quilt show, Quilting in the Village 2017, was also presented. A fun draw took place with Chloe Truman winning a gift basket. Another gift basket was presented to Betty Huygen in recognition of her many contributions to the guild over the years.
Show and Share included not only new quilted items, but also a sharing of favourite notions. This was a morning of fun, food and fellowship. A great way to end a very eventful guild year. Enjoy some of our Show & Share quilts below:
