Happy New Year! Ailsa Craig Quilt Festival presents the Quilts of France https://www.ailsacraigquiltfestival.ca/ Since the quilts hadn’t arrived yet, Cynthia and Cathy shared stories of things that happened while travelling and visiting countries that would be part of the show. Cynthia McNair (www.quiltingscool.blogspot.ca) showed us fabulous samples of Bedouin embroidery. She also showed us the class samples for the show (May 18 – 23). There are intriguing classes that will be available during the show. GUILD CHALLENGE – Pantone colour of the year – Marsala. The guild challenge was handed out. Everyone was given a 6” piece of fabric, and challenged to use it to make a 12 ½” block by adding other fabric to it. The hope is to get enough blocks to create at least one quilt but hopefully more. LIBRARY A new video, “Modern Machine Quilting” by Quilting Arts Workshop is now available in the library. Here are the photos from the show and share. |
