Upcoming MEETING and LET'S QUILT DAY Schedule
Please wear your name tag and bring your own coffee mug to every meeting.

Good Morning!  Welcome to another fall day.  Remember winter is not officially here until December 21st. so think of this snow as a special treat.

The guild has been up and running now since last May and we are gradually getting our mojo back.  There are a lot of moving parts to the guild, so it takes a while to become "well oiled".

Our membership committee (headed by Kim Pallett) has not had a break and has kept chugging along.  At present there are 136 members and counting.  As you can see by the numbers, we have many new quilters joining us.  Some of them are new members so let's help them out and share tips, but many are very experienced quilters.  I am sure we will all be able to learn from them.  The important thing is to reach out and get to know them.  The new members have a green dot on their name tags so don't be afraid to introduce yourself.  (Don't expect them to remember your name or you remember theirs! it's all part of aging).  You may have something in common with the new member other thank quilting.

Outreach is another committee that has never stopped.  Headed by Marlene Dunlap, with lots of assistance from Trish Gamble and Yvette Glynn the Gild has delivered over 80 quilts this year.  The committee has helped to increase this number by supplying kits, batting and backing.  This is a wonderful help for many.

Marlene has just informed me that she has additional batting and will be happy to fulfill your needs, (batting, that is).

The money for the supplies comes from the date of materials that have been donated from the community and they wish it to be used for charity.  A handsome amount has been raised.

Our Guild action sale will be held in April.  At that time, you can bring in material from your closet, basement or warehouse to be sold.  This can be a very entertaining couple of hours since quilters can really fight over a remnant that they think THEY should have!

Thank you to Linda Cox for the 2 Let's Quilt Days so far this year.
Mary Aldworth, also our secretary, presented an idea for a quilt that we can all take part in.  The pattern is in our minutes on the website.  Talk to her for more information.

Thank you to Willie Leenders for her presentation in October.

Our next Let's Quilt Day will be an extended version with no demo.  Feel free to bring a work project of your own to work on or a quilt to sandwich.  Everyone loves to see them and sometimes learn from them.  Some may wish to stay on until 4:00 pm to work on projects.   Bring your lunch and anything that you need for your project including an extension cord and $3.00.  We are lucky now since we have nice table to sit at and good lighting.  Email Linda Cox if you wish to stay on.  It is a great way to meet other people in a smaller setting.  Always enjoyable!

CHRITMAS MEETING INFORMATION

Brin along a finger food for our buffet.  Please have it plated with serving utensils if needed.  Just a small plate is all that is required from any person.
Bring your own plate and utensils just in case, plus a mug.
Something for SHOW & TELL is always good.  It gives others inspiration for future projects.  There will be tables laid out to put your project on when you enter so people can see them up close.  I promise no one will judge or see your mistakes.

BOOK AND PUZZLE SALE
Please bring in books and puzzle to recirculate to other readers and doers.  For hard to buy friends, you buy a book or two or puzzles.  Readers don't mind used!
Please bring change to pay for the books.  Thanks!  We hope to use the money raised for a special gift to Michael, Westview's custodian, who has been looking after us every meeting.  He set up all the tables, chairs, does the sound system, and really works hard on clean up.  (a little mouse told me he has made his first quilt to boot).

A QUILTERS TALK SESSION will be held which could be fun.  The topic FAMOUS PEOPLE (or famous to you at least) that you have come close to and maybe even met.  Think back through the years and someone will come to mind.  I know a couple already which will brin a laugh to all.

I hope that this helps the new members, the forgetful old members and members who have missed a couple of meetings.

Please feel free to wear a mask.  We are in the large gym.
Wear your name tag and a smile!
See you Wednesday.
